Hey there!

I'm Adam Beeler-Lammers

I’m a web and graphic designer based in San Rafael, CA. I love to create both on and off the computer. I have a background in computer science and fine arts. When I'm not designing, you'll find me hiking the great outdoors, drawing, playing guitar, or buried in a new book.

My Resume

A picture of me in Colorado
I was drawn to graphic design by my interest in visual arts. I started with drawing and painting in analog before moving into the digital world. I’ve always been interested in the design principles of composition and contrast. I believe in the power of images to capture audience attention and deliver a message. My style of design tends towards minimalism. It is fascinating to see how much you can take away from an image without losing the intended meaning.

I love stories. Stories are the lens through which humans interpret reality. I’ve been an avid reader and enjoyer of film for my entire life. Sometimes they can be a wonderful escape from the uncertainty and disappointments of reality. Other times they can prompt deep self-reflection and realization. You’ll always find me working my way through at least one book. At the time of writing this, I’m working my way through an eclectic mix: Come as You Are: The Story of Nirvana, Blood Meridian, and Ancillary Mercy.

Learning is the most versatile skill a person can have. I’ve worked hard to cultivate and nurture my capacity to learn. I block out time for myself to practice drawing and playing guitar. I am constantly reading about history and current events. My curiosity can feel near insatiable.

I’m a soon-to-be collector of vinyl. By that I mean I am intensely interested in music and experiencing it in its original album context. My musical comfort zone is rock, especially alternative rock, but I am constantly seeking out new sounds and new feelings. I value authenticity wherever I can find it. Despite being born in 1997, the 90’s are my favorite decade for music. I’ve called Nirvana my favorite band for a few years now, though I’m not quite as obsessed as I used to be. I like the old-school hiphop from that decade, it has that same grass-roots feeling of authentically produced music.

I'm a person who thrives in the outdoors and sometimes needs to just get out there for his sanity. Natural forms are a big inspiration to my design and art in general. Here I am enjoying the Colorado sun near the Garden of the Gods:
